More than 4,300 local and 36 professionals have performed in 95 live, full-length performances of The Nutcracker Ballet. Julie Kent of The American Ballet Theatre, who later became a world famous ballerina, starred in the very first production at The Florida Theatre in 1992.
Approximately 60,000 students from area schools; 36,000 clients and patients of local nonprofit, community service organizations; and nearly 182,400 guests of all ages have attended performances since 1992.view events >>
In the past 25 years, Community Nutcracker has donated over of $600,000 to local charities. In addition, Nutcracker dancers have performed and made appearances all over Jacksonville at events such as ArtWalk, Christmas in Avondale, and Christmas in San Marco Square as well at locations such as: Orange Park Mall, The Avenues Mall, The St. Johns Town Center and Riverside Arts Market.view outreach >>

Performing annually since 1992, Community Nutcracker has evolved into a treasured holiday tradition in Northeast Florida. Over 200 local performers are involved to produce an artistic masterpiece that embodies the act of giving during the holidays, while bringing the community together in a whimsical, imaginative Christmas celebration of elegant dance and storytelling.
Bringing various performers together to produced the Nutcracker Ballet is only a part of Community Nutcracker's focus. The philanthropic focus of the Community Nutcracker simply put, is to spread Christmas cheer to all corners of our community, including those who may not have the opportunity to enjoy a full length ballet.
For our Community Service Night performance, approximately 1900 free tickets are issued to various Jacksonville agencies, organizations, non profits and nursing homes to attend a performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. Additionally, each year, proceeds from the production are donated to other local nonprofits, with over $600,000.00 donated to date.
